This story narrates the experience of two GFSC volunteers, Juan Ricardo Orduz and Ximena Combariza, in the city of Mocoa, capital of the Putumayo Department, in southern Colombia, which in 2017 was affected by a huge avalanche, which charged many lives and destroyed more than half the city. In response to this disaster, GFSC established an alliance with a local NGO in Mocoa, CORPORACIÓN CASA AMAZONÍA, thanks to which various activities were carried out to support the community affected by this disaster. These activities included two training workshops for facilitators, community leaders and primary and secondary school teachers, in the GFSC Post-Disaster and Crisis Psychosocial Recovery Model.
