Online Training in the Crisis-Change-Choice Model for Facilitators in Latin America

GFSC is very pleased to report that between July 21 and August 6, 2026, we conducted an online training program on the Crisis-Change-Choice Model, in Spanish, consisting of six synchronous online sessions, for a group of 23 professionals. Participants included psychologists, facilitators, consultants, coaches, and social workers, from Venezuela, Mexico, Chile, Canada, and Colombia. GFSC’s team of facilitators was integrated by: Francisco Fernández (Colombia), Maria Francia Utard (Costa Rica/Chile), Michael Kane (USA), Miriam Castillo (Venezuela/Colombia), Raúl Silveira (Brazil/Uruguay), Viridiana Moreno (Mexico), and Ximena Combariza (Colombia).

The group participated actively and enthusiastically, sharing their own experiences and knowledge in supporting individuals or groups in various crisis situations, and rated the training as a highly enriching learning experience. Everyone committed to applying what they had learned with various groups or communities affected by crises or natural disasters—particularly the participants from Venezuela, where two powerful earthquakes occurred on June 24, 2026, causing many casualties and the devastation of several cities. We hope that many other people in the participants’ home regions will benefit from the training offered by GFSC.
