Resilience

A combination of factors helps to build resilience. Many studies show that one of the most important factors in resilience is having caring and supportive relationships inside and outside the family. Relationships that emanate love and trust, that provide models to follow, and that offer stimuli and security, contribute to affirming the resilience of the person.

Other factors associated with resilience are:
* The ability to make realistic plans and follow the necessary steps to carry them out.
* A positive view of yourself, and confidence in your strengths and abilities.
* Skills in communication and problem solving.
* The ability to handle strong feelings and impulses.

All these are factors that people can develop on their own.
