The authors, Miriam Castillo P., Laura Salvador P., María Francia Utard and Ximena Combariza E. are GFSC volunteers and facilitators with extensive experience, hailing from Venezuela, Ecuador, Chile / Costa Rica, and Colombia. They state that the main elements of the GFSC post-crisis and psychosocial recovery model are applicable to other situations, such as the social crises experienced in 2019 in Ecuador, Chile, Bolivia, Venezuela, Nicaragua and Colombia, after the great marches and manifestations of discontent popular, and the harsh reactions of local governments to them. In this short article they present a set of recommendations applicable to this type of crisis, on how to strengthen personal and community resilience and on an appropriate type of leadership to contribute to resilience in such circumstances.
